RAF BRIZE NORTON
Full Blast was awarded the contract to carry out the blasting cleaning and painting works on the refurbishment of an aircraft hangar at Raf Brize Norton. The scope of the works included blasting cleaning all the structural steel work to sa2.5 and recoating with a 2pk epoxy primer and top coat to the detailed spec supplied. This included documenting dry film thickness micron readings during the paint application.
Following our detailed site survey we decided the best form access would be via scissor lifts and to utilise our IPAF access platform qualified operatives. Full Blast presented a full risk assessment and method statement to cover our scope of the works.
Due to the multi use of the building and surrounding area Full Blast produced an extensive program of works to accommodate the ongoing air force training requirements within the building. The project was completed on time and on budget which has lead to further work being awarded in and around the base.
